23 Apartments, 3 and 4 bedroom
‘A transition of elevation’
The Evelyn Residences are strategically located within the ‘Wirraway’ precinct within Fisherman’s Bend, in Port Melbourne.
With a stunning location facing J.L Murphy Reserve, the new building presented a complex architectural challenge to capitalise on views that will never be built out. The original design was for 48 small apartments, but when the market shifted away from investor-type stock and demand increased for larger family orientated residences, we were briefed to meet a new requirement for 23 apartments with park views.
As a result, this project wasn’t an exercise in maximising numbers as much as it was about gaining the best amenity possible for the available floor plates. And we wanted to create opportunities for all apartments to enjoy a leafy park aspect.
The result is an enduring project that transitions effortlessly through a series of elevations evolving from the podium level to a thinner tower section up to a dissolved penthouse level. Robust materials, exceptional masonry craftmanship and quality cladding add durability and substance.
For residents, The Evelyn delivers amenity far exceeding the typical ‘cookie cutter’ layouts prevalent in city apartments. The internal spaces are oversized with feature floor-to-ceiling windows from generous living areas, and include large balconies blurring the indoor and outdoor lifestyle taking in the greenery opposite. The building also creates excellent opportunities for multi-generational living within the apartments, delivering market-leading solutions for the residential property sector.
